Biography

Obtaining justice from defendants in a personal injury case parallels to an extent what transpires in a criminal case. In both you have an accused wrongdoer, a victim, a harm — and an opportunity to make things right.”

Adam Raffo is a trial lawyer who has been with Weitz & Luxenberg for over 10 years. Mr. Raffo joined the firm after serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York, where he prosecuted criminal matters. He took his first guilty verdict within six weeks of joining the District Attorney’s Office.

Taking On Complex Personal Injury Cases

At W&L, Mr. Raffo works closely with a team of seasoned lawyers and support staff handling complex and serious negligence cases. These cases are stemming from construction accidents, dangerous premises, car crashes, and defective product design and manufacturing.

Mr. Raffo has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients, successfully bringing to resolution hundreds of personal injury cases.

A $23 Million Dollar Verdict

A well-rounded attorney, Mr. Raffo prides himself as much on his investigative skills as his trial lawyering. Those two skills perhaps best intersected when he took a substantial jury verdict in Kings County against the driver of a hit-and-run vehicle.

Building the case from the ground up, our Weitz & Luxenberg attorneys presented a cohesive and aggressive trial strategy employing techniques often seen in the criminal arena. Calling the alleged driver to the stand as a hostile witness, Mr. Raffo painstakingly dismantled his alibi. At one point, the driver was sheepishly admitting to the jury that Mr. Raffo had caught him in a lie.

The $23 million verdict was reported as the third highest in New York State for the year and was profiled on the front page of the New York Law Journal.

Mr. Raffo has been named a Super Lawyer Rising Star for the past several years.

On the Personal Side

A lifelong resident of Nassau County, New York, he and his wife spend their free time chasing their boy and girl twins around the parks and beautiful beaches of Long Island.
